COMMUNITY PLANT SWAP & LIFESTYLE OBJECTS, ACTIVE SPACE, 2012
In conjunction with Bushwick Open Studios, I hosted a plant swap and curated project next door to my own studio. In part because it is good luck to share plant cuttings, I hosted a plant swap inspired by an exchange of cuttings I had done informally with some artist friends. In addition, I curated a collection of objects that various artists had created for exchange, for their home, for their children, for sale in the marketplace, or for a collaborative activity. These “lifestyle” objects were outside of the “official” contemporary art world, but were instances of artists extending their professional practice into everyday life.
